Rachel Green

Rachel is a PhD Candidate in the Geography department at UCSB. Her research spans modeling the predictability of vegetation patterns from climate variability across drylands ecosystems to investigating the multifaceted drivers and impacts of climate induced migration. She integrates several types of data sources into her work including remote sensing imagery, population and socioeconomic surveys, food security records, and humanitarian news articles to synthesize complex scenarios within our coupled human-natural environment. She is also a member of the Water, Vegetation, & Society Lab. She enjoys reading fiction, listening to music, visiting the beach, and traveling to new cities.
