Gemma Del Rossi

Gemma is a PhD student in the Bren School for Environmental Science and Management concentrating in Economics & Environmental Science (EES). Her research focuses on the nexus of ecosystem service provision, agricultural livelihoods, and climate resilience through applying economic principles and methodology. Gemma’s current research will explore farmer behavior and perceptions of risk, food market structures, and the threat of climate change to sub-Saharan Africa’s agricultural production.

Prior to UCSB, Gemma received her undergraduate degrees in Environmental Studies and Community & International Development from the University of Vermont (2018), her M.S. in Applied Economics and Management from Cornell University (2022) and has worked in the non-profit development space. In her free time, Gemma loves to garden, explore the local hiking trails, and practice yoga.
